Say That Again (or Say What??!)

While others will cover the stupidity of using the term "Blood Libel", and truly it was a stupid comment, I don't care to overkill the discussion and will let it rest with the post below.

Instead, what I would like to focus a small bit of attention on is the duplicity of Palin and her supporters in what she said AFTER saying something about "Blood Libel."

Palin insists that criminals are solely responsible for their criminal conduct, implying clearly that she CAN'T be held accountable for the impact of her words.

In the next breath, in fact in the very next sentence, she said that the "media and pundints" (sic) (by the way Palin happens to be a member of the media) must be careful of the words they use because it "incites the very violence" they condemn.

So which way is it? Do words matter, or don't they? Are words NOT inciting violence only when it's her words, but the words of other media types do incite violence? What totally ludicrous, buck-passing hypocrisy. So she doesn't want to be called out for using words like "un-American", "traitor" and seeking to "reload". And she doesn't want to be labelled as potentially helping (in a small way) to incite and foment violent thoughts among the unstable, but somehow the media saying her words are irresponsible are more likely to incite violence?


In the movie "Hancock", the hero (Hancock) challenges his antagonists to "Say that again...Say that ONE more time". When they do, he takes them apart. I challenge Palin to reconsider her comments and look at the absolute foolishness of saying in one breath she isn't responsible for any violence, and in the very next breath saying others who say much more mild things are. You see, if she were to repeat such stupidity, hopefully the next time the media will notice the stupidity when "Blood Libel" foolishness isn't dominating the conversation. Hopefully they'll point out that she is talking out of both sides of her face.

It's not news that she does so after all she quit her job - running from the challenges of a difficult governmental situation while calling others irresponsible, but it is something her followers should take note of, either you "personal accountability" folks are going to hold her accountable for using violent imagery, and threatening violent revolution through imagery, or you have NOTHING AT ALL to complain about with regard to Palin's treatment and most especially, neither does Sarah "the poor little victim" Palin. Her words have been brutally irresponsible and insulting. She has suggested liberals would PREFER to kill the old, that we are looking to force teenagers into "re-education camps" and that we're "traitors." These words do in fact have the chance to generate a lot of anger if believed, and whatever trouble she has is the trouble she brought upon herself, not the least by pretending it's not her fault and that she's a victim of hate. She's (and those who act like her) is/are only a victim of her own hypocrisy and the well justified outrage of those she's insulted and at least "ethically" slandered.
