Two of a Kind, Peas Meet Pod

Two more or less military wannabes.  Ready thrown out, Breivik couldn't make it in.  One expert testified in the Breivik trial that Breivik had trouble differentiating between reality and World of Warcraft and other war game fantasies.  Breivik arguably lived in his own little world separate from the fact based reality we know.  Both tried to become important through proving themselves adept at military actions - Breivik by gunning down many people who were not able to fight back.  Ready gunning down fewer people who could not fight back, but also playing at vigilante war  in the outdoors with his silly friends also dressed up in their little soldier suits.
Neither was legitimate. Both were rather bland, pale and pudgy faced, and both shared similar views that expressed hatred for the rest of the world, fear of Islam, white supremacy and right wing ideas and ideals.  Both were people who are or were largely not taken seriously, deservedly so.
Both have an utter lack of charm, charisma, or true social graces; they are clumsy boors - past tense in the case of Ready. Both were fascinated with their own race.  Both were fond of silly looking one arm extended salutes.  The two were only a few years apart in age.
Both were wrong, and both have done more to persuade people away from, not towards, those points of view.

Breivik

There may be one last way in which they are alike; both are an embarrassment to their respective countries and cultures.

  1. Hello Dog Gone,
I have seen many Ultra Conservatives in the Republican Party talking tough military language, and the solutions to the problems in this country today. “Round up all immigrants and ship them to what ever Sh*t Hole country they came from.” “We should just start at one end of Afghanistan and keep on going right on through Pakistan.”

Well you know the type…. I usually follow up with the question, “When did you serve and what branch?” More times than not I get the shoe scraping the ground and with down cast eyes replying, “Well I never did serve in any military branch.” Yea Big Camouflage Outfit Wearing Heroes talking Bucky Bad Ass Tough Talk, but never did step up and serve in real life.

Sometimes I then reply, “We had a name for people like you during the Viet Nam years and afterwards in South America when I was with MIUW 604….We call your types, Woosies” (or more to the fact a word that rhymed with that.)

Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney, are just a few names that come to mind right now. It can also be said that really, G. W. Bush’s name can be added to this list too.

As a mater “BIG HEROES” such as Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Phil Gramm, Dennis Hastert, Dick Armey, Tom Delay, were even proactive and ran off like the “Little Princes” girls running off screaming to get away from the Ugly Bug” to avoid the draft when they were called to serve their country during their time.

Bottom like, none of my children will march under the orders from the likes these men above only to have everything I have investing in raising them being squandered on this group’s bravado.

  2. These guys were big on tough talk, and small on strong character. You pegged it a bullseye in sizing up these two. The very worst thing that could happen to either of them, in their minds, is to be minimized and marginalized and ignored.

The chicken hawks are big on chicken rhymes-with-spit.
