A Failure as a Leader

Why Romney, why?

  1. I guess as a failure he is in good company.....

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."
Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

Having spent a good bit of time nursing a GLD (ground Laser Designator) in several garden spots around the world, something from the report jumped out at me.

One of the former SEALs was actively painting the target. That means that Specter WAS ON STATION! Probably an AC130U. A ground laser designator is not a briefing pointer laser. You do not “paint” a target until the weapons system/designator is synched; which means that the AC130 was on station.

Only two places could have called off the attack at that point; the WH situation command (based on POTUS direction) or AFRICOM commander based on information directly from the target area.

If the AC130 never left Sigonella (as Penetta says) that means that the Predator that was filming the whole thing was armed.

If that SEAL was actively “painting” a target; something was on station to engage! And the decision to stand down goes directly to POTUS!

Obama is a useless sack of shit......

    1. Thomas, I'm not interested in reading anything from Fake News aka Fox News.
They are notoriously unreliable, factually inaccurate, biased, flawed, bad, not really news.

As a source, they are utter crap, and not good crap that you could at least put on your garden, but toxic crap.

If THAT is what you are relying on, bend over and kiss your ass goodbye.

Romney is not in the same class as any navy seal, ever, anywhere.

The Benghazi 'scandal' has been a total fizzle. You're hijacking threads again - if you want to address the Benghazi attack, here are two criteria -- NOTHING from Fake News, and you have to be addressing the ACTUAL topic of a post. When further factual, objective information comes to light - which is NOT anything either from Darrel Issa, a pox-ridden whore of a politician and small-time crook.

If you want to post this comment, cut and paste it to the post I put up before the last debate,

      Here are a few points you might want to address on Benghazi;
      http://penigma.blogspot.com/2012/10/as-we-approach-debate-little-refresher.html

      1. New reporting finds that protest against anti-Islam video played role in Benghazi attacks. Facts have been lost in the Republicans’ scramble to politicize the attacks in Libya last month that killed three Americans. It turns out that, according to the latest reports, there’s “no evidence” that the attack was ordered by al Qaeda and the attack grew out of a protest against a video disparaging the Prophet Mohammed.
      3. Iran is not enriching weapons-grade uranium. Iran is currently enriching low-grade uranium (against the demands of the United Nations), but Israeli and U.S. intelligence and the International Atomic Energy Agency all agree that Iran has yet to decide on whether to build nuclear weapons and enrich to the high grade needed for bomb. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has said the U.S. and the international community would know if Iran makes that decision and that it would take “a little more than a year” to construct a nuclear device.
      4. Romney will increase military spending by $2.1 trillion, with no plan to pay for it. Romney plans on increasing military spending by $2.1 trillion. One adviser repeatedly dodged questions on how Romney plans to pay for it while another said that Romney would maintain war spending indefinitely to make up the cost. CAP has charted the numbers:

And my personal favorite - Romney doesn't appear to even know where Iran IS, since he believes that they are building a port in Syria to have access to the Med. Dubya invaded the wrong country because of bad intel on WMD - not that he really cared about WMD, he just wanted to invade Iraq. Romney would invade the wrong country because of an utterly failed grasp of geography....

You are badly informed, have apparently no capacity to fact check the propaganda you're spoon fed by silly right wing extremists -- that means you CHOOSE to be a fool. Therefore, if you can't operate in a factual argument, why should it matter if you approve of Obama or not?

Make your opinion mean something Thomas! Be better informed, rely on objective sources. More than one INDEPENDENT study, peer reviewed, critiqued and evaluated finds that those who rely on fox news and other equally bad sources actually know LESS than people who get NO news.

      Sheesh!

  2. Same deal Thomas - thread hi-jack, your comment is up for 24 hours, then it goes away. Please cross post your comment - which is welcome, however factually wrong it is - on the correct post.

  3. I'll go you one step further DG.

Thomas, as the blog's founder and principal (along with DG), you get one more chance to a. stay on topic and b. answer the questions posed to you in reply to your rather ludicrous commentary. Frankly, I think your comments expose what an intollerant, hate-filled person you are, but they also distract from the actual discussion.

So, here's the deal. Answer and discuss the topic at hand, or stop commenting. We don't need, don't want, nor do we abide trolls (a troll is someone who drives by various boards posting inflamatory comments). Either improve or your gone.

Period. Is that strong enough leadership for you Thomas? Do you recognize strong leadership? I mean, I have to assume you liked GW Bush, a pathetic, piece of crap (not the good kind) leader, and I have to assume you like Romney (a virtually as bad, weak willed, lilly-livered liar), but still, I assume you GET the idea that a leader takes a stand, justifies it and lives by it. Something Bush never did and Romney, Mr. Flip flop himself, wouldn't know if it bit him in the ass. So, get better, or get out.
