Too Eager to Go to War with Iran, No Plan to Pay for It

Just like Bush was too eager to go to war with Iraq on any pretext, and left us with a huge deficit to pay for it.

Romney: Bush mistakes all over again.

  1. Are you sure that he did not reference Veterans ... I recall him stating that he would cut government spending by 5% and has previously stated that he would cut federal employment by 10% ... and he did not state that he would exempt the Veterans Administration. (BTW: the increase in federal employees during Obama can be traced to Veterans, current military and Border Patrol ... not regulators.)
Based on his track record as Governor, that should be a concern ... In one of his earliest moves as Governor, Romney proposed Cutting State Hiring Preferences for Veterans and aligning Veterans Services with State Welfare Programs. “ ‘A veteran should not have to sit in a welfare line waiting for help,’ said Paul G. Keough, chairman of the Unified Veterans of Massachusetts at the time. Remember this was 2003 ... and Iraq was still in its infancy.

Let us remember that because of Romney's religious beliefs special rules were in effect to allow for Mormons to receive a 4-D ministerial exemption from military service ... so the closest that he got to Viet Nam was protesting FOR the war ... Governor Romney has no record to run on.

On the other hand, President Obama has seen the impact on veterans for decades ... from his years in Chicago to as recently as a visit to Minnesota :
I think the American people recognize is after a decade of war it's time to do some nation building here at home. And what we can now do is free up some resources, to, for example, put Americans back to work, especially our veterans, rebuilding our roads, our bridges, our schools, making sure that, you know, our veterans are getting the care that they need when it comes to post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, making sure that the certifications that they need for good jobs of the future are in place.

You know, I was having lunch with some -- a veteran in Minnesota who had been a medic dealing with the most extreme circumstances. When he came home and he wanted to become a nurse, he had to start from scratch. And what we've said is let's change those certifications. The first lady has done great work with an organization called Joining Forces putting our veterans back to work. And as a consequence, veterans' unemployment is actually now lower than general population. It was higher when I came into office.

So those are the kinds of things that we can now do because we're making that transition in Afghanistan.

Romney said that he agreed that our troops would leave Afghanistan in 2014 ... but still has not explained WHY we need to add 100,000 more troops.

  2. I am sure that you are familiar with the phrase : Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk.

Well ... a True Friend does not let a Friend get involved in a war. Obama is being Israel's BEST FRIEND by working the sanctions and the story that there will be 1-on-1 talks after the election is considered to be good news for Israel ... as it takes away Russia and China from saying NO. The Israeli papers rate this as a major success for Obama.

A war would have major consequences for every nation ... and somehow Romney thinks that he can just tell Iran and Russia what to do ... this guy is a JOKE.
