Why Fox is Faux News

When you believe whatever someone tells you, then you don't care about facts. Truth is not variable. Facts are the same for everyone. This is why Fox lies so often - their audiences are gullible right wing fools; they have no professional commitment to facts or professional standards or ethics.

  1. One of my favorite Adages is : The LIE becomes the TRUTH only when someone comes to believe it.

Watch this week at how many Republicans will be extolling their legislation that will halt salary increase ... citing that Members of Congress, the Vice President, Cabinet members and other federal workers do not need a raise ... and the cost is $11 Billion.

Just the type of statement sure to fire up the base ... until you read their legislation and what other legislation has already been enacted. First, Congress is not getting a raise as that was eliminated in the "fiscal cliff" bill. The $11 Billion is over ten years ... BUT their bill only cuts it for this 9 months of this year ... so the impact is only $500 million ... and who would get that increase ... food safety inspectors, border guards, etc .... and the amount that has been approved is 0.5% ... not exactly much when you consider that federal workers have had their pay frozen for two years .... and I bet you never heard one Republican attempting to stop the 1.7% increase that the military received .... the military pay raises are "across the board" which as usual gives the higher ranks(Generals O-10) a greater amount than those of the lower ranks (privates E-1)

The president has the authority to determine a raise based on the Employment Cost Index if Congress fails to explicitly block a pay raise ... and the Republicans will vote this week to do that.
